In 2023, I contacted Yacht Sales West about a sailboat for sale. Within two weeks, Yacht Sales West made my dream come true, I owned the sailboat to circumnavigate in. The purchase transaction went through smoothly and quickly and I was the new owner of ”s/v Sarantium”, a 40 foot Island Packet. The team at Yacht Sales West made every step of the way easy and enjoyable. Even after the purchase was complete, they continued to be attentive when I needed questions answered. In the summer of 2023, we began searching for a catamaran to cruise on full-time. We settled on Nautitech and contacted Max at Yacht Sales West (YSW), the Canadian broker for Nautitech. Max brought a breath of fresh air to our boat selling. We couldn’t be in country during most of this process, and he and his team took care of all the details—haul out, sea trials etc. It was wonderful to have a qualified captain handle our 53’ vessel, to have sage advice during the process, and making the whole process seamless. Max sold our 42 foot blue water cruiser. He is quite knowledgeable and was patient and persistent. In the end we sold for an attractive price. Nicely done.
I cannot recommend Max Shaw at YSW more highly. He is extremely knowledgeable, having spent 12 years sailing around the Pacific and raising his family on board. An engineer, turned off shore sailor, turned yacht broker, he provides a unique perspective on the often emotion laden process of buying and selling a yacht.
