Beautiful Hike!
Tremendously difficult to get reservations to these, and sometimes disappointing with results. This lookout was reasonably well maintained, it’s old, so don’t be expecting it to be a 4-star hotel. Stairs are steep, so if you can’t climb 53 steps that are really closer to a “ladder” then a staircase, then don’t bother. Views are great. Bugs can be bad. No water, so bring your own. It is nice having this behind a locked gate.
Locked gate about 5 miles before the lookout. You can't drive to top.
