We love it here! My granddaughter’s got to go on their first horse ride here and it’s one of their best memories! Gemma is very knowledgeable with horses and the kids felt safe and had a lot of fun! I had fun too!
We visited Wumaniti Sanctuary and had a wonderful experience. It was a respite from the long family roadtrip. There were many well cared for horses on the property and it was beautiful to witness Gemma and her daughter's connection to the animals. The property was spectacular. It was my whole families first time on a horse and Gemma made everyone feel at ease and safe. We will definitely be back!
I cannot recommend Wumaniti Earth Native Sanctuary highly enough. When I first moved to New Mexico, I connected with Gemma because I was looking for equestrian work. I ended up volunteering, and it became one of the most meaningful experiences I have ever had. I also took Gemma’s safety course- she combines practical safety skills with Tai Chi, horsemanship, archery, and a thoughtful approach grounded in Mongolian and Indigenous ways of knowing. Wumaniti Earth Sanctuary in Taos is a life saver ! My friend called me panicking the other day, asking for my help with a blue Pinon Jay that flew in her kitchen window that morning. I was on my way home and stopped by to check it out . The bird was on the ground and very much alive but unable to fly . In the past I drove all the way to Espagnola for a rescue but it was after hours . I found Wumaniti info on line and gave it á try .
