I am a skilled trades apprentice and a taxpayer in BC. unfortunately i am on laid-off . I visited this workBC office to get grants to complete my Training and get Red-Seal Certification to secure more jobs in Okanagan Area. Despite clear labour market demand for Red Seal–certified workers, I was unable to receive meaningful support from WorkBC . Completely unhelpful. Moved to the Okanagan and have been struggling to find work. I’m now in school studying trades. I called work BC to ask about pre apprentice jobs / getting ready to become an apprentice and seeing what my options are for work while I’m in school. They said they could absolutely help me and to come in. I went in today and the 2 women at the front said there is nothing they can do to help me and don’t know anything about apprenticing and pre apprenticing, but they can help me make a resume.
