I am extremely disappointed with the care my daughter received at Woodview. She deserves the highest standard of mental health support, yet her experience at this facility fell far short. The counselors and therapists she worked with were generally students or in-training professionals, and she saw a different person every session. My daughter had a terrible experience here. Every-single-time I dropped her off at an appointment it was a different counselor. After they trained all the new entry-level students on my daughter, she was discharged and subsequently has been in McMaster hospital several times. One of the receptionists went out for cigarettes so often it was all I could smell. Whoever is in charge should be embarrassed
We've been using numerous services on and off throughout the years for our Autistic and high-needs daughter. They've been incredibly helpful and supportive with her, and our family. Recently, we've been attending events during their mental health week and they've been great. The staff that we are linked up with has been wonderful, communicative and supportive. I highly recommend looking into their services for families with autistic/complex needs kids!
Not the worst, but not the best. I was pushed through several different counsellors here, none of them seem to want to stick around and end up finding other jobs. They will also push out no matter how much you need the counseling because of how many clients there are. I would say it’s better for a few one off appointments rather than long term.
