the electricity is always going out
In all of my near 50 years of having a co-op electric company I have never had one with as many outages as this one. If you are like us and have no other options for electric service my advice is buy the best surge protectors you can afford and hook them to every piece of electronics you want to keep because the power surges will fry your equipment. I cannot stress enough how incompetent they are. Of course, this review means nothing since I have no choice in electric companies. But just to let you know what you are in for... power goes out And every one you know gets their power fixed, but yours is STILL out. You see, Wood County doesn’t have the ability to fix their own outage issues, so they call in other companies. Of course, these companies are going to take care of their own customers first = you pay the same price but get sub par service
Generally a decent provider, however today they were installing an electric pole for new construction next door and without notice they cut off my electricity. The repairman was literally 30 feet from my front door and did not feel the need to notify us that we would not have electricity for over an hour.
So sick of the power outages. I have new pups on the ground and twice in one day we lose power and have no heat for them. Ugh
RecommendedI have been here since dec 2012 moving to this area I haven't had any problem with anyone and when we had our solar put in they helped and explained everything I also drive school bus and not once have their trucks ran my red and when I pay my bill dont have a problem there..great bunch of people. I have lived all over the usa they are the best
Have lived many places in my life and nowhere has ever had service with as weak of a power grid as WCEC. If someone sneezes to hard our power will go off, usually only for a few seconds but more than enough to disrupt anything a family might have going on. I have lost at least 3 computers due to power cycles, none were thunderstorm related either. If i see 3 clouds forming in the sky, i make it a habit to rush in and unplug as many electrical items as i can. Never in my life have i had to do that. Customer service has always... read more
They are quick to respond to MOST outages and are friendly and committed. I have dealt with them for 20 yrs and they are WAY better than Oncor, IMHO.
