I have just stayed 4 days in Otter ward and I have to say they were absolutely amazing, friendly,helpful, nothing was to much trouble,the care was outstanding (apart from a move I was not supposed to go on down to waynard ward which was awful and luckily I was moved straight back up to otter) from the minute I entered the pre op ward I was taken care of, my anethatis was amazing and looked after me so well, I suffer with massive anxiety and the surgeon, anethatis, docs,nurses everybody was great and put me at ease. The evening I was admitted was chaotic, only 4 docs on duty, patients on trolleys all the way from the ambulance bays to the cubicles, waiting times hit 24 hours, several people seemed to be treating it like a social club. Finally admitted to AMU 12 hrs after arrival. Charge nurses doing their best, not at all easy for them or for those waiting.
