I have been a patient of Dr. Higginbotham for over 20yrs, actually closer to 30 yrs. Dr. Higginbotham is definitely the best OB/GYN I've ever had and I would give her personally five stars. However, she recently changed staff and hired her nephew (James) as her front desk person (appointment setter). He is extremely rude, lacks professionalism and no respect for her patients. Dr. Higginbothom is absolutely amazing! I am giving this 4 stars because her receptionist Maria is not very professional. Every time I call the office Maria has a very slick attitude and acts as though calling the office is a problem. Any time I try to schedule an appointment I am met with resistance by Maria, a snide remark is given or she will mumble under her breath; especially AFTER me giving her my name. This review isn’t about my appointment because I never got it. I saw the great reviews and with me being new to HTX I was in need of a new OB, so I scheduled my 2pm appointment. When I got there I was told my appointment was at 2:30, which I know wasn’t true because I live my life based off my calendar and put it in once I booked it.
