My mother was in ED for about 24hrs with kidney stones she couldn’t get a bed and was in extreme pain. They couldn’t give her a bed and she had to sit for hours upon hours in complete agony she was delirious when I got her . Wollongong is completely overwhelmed and understaffed. I wouldn’t be surprised if people will die waiting for care

I presented at the ER on the morning of Good Friday, following an unexplained fall the previous night.The morning shift had just commenced. I want to express my gratitude, respect and admiration for the professional care I received, which was provided with a gentle and calming compassion. I was also kept informed at every stage as to the need for tests and their outcome. Doctors and nurses were amazing and I’m in awe of their expertise. Thank you to all who were on duty that morning.

Wollongong hospital: I salute all the staff there, whether male or female nurses, and then the doctors. They are very distinguished in their treatment of patients, very kind, and regular in their work. They are trustworthy, honest, and loyal. They are always friendly and welcoming, with a smile on their faces, and they are very patient. I thank them for daily, tiring efforts that they give to everyone who needs them. Visiting hours start at :9:00am And ,end at : 8:00pm Thank you 😊 very much

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not go there unless you are dying or, a baby. They are shockingly unsupported, uncaring and you can literally wait forever. I waited from 3 30am until 7 30 an with nobody else there at 3 30. Still had not been seen. I left and went to corrimal urgent care, and was seen immediately and they took bloods within 15 minutes. And made it urgent. Wollongong Ed is totally out of touch.

I don't understand why it says "See nurse first" in big letters when you are supposed to register your information first at the other counter. I was just waiting there and there was no nurse at the counter and then she told me to go to the other counter. Clear signage would help especially when you are having an emergency. Waiting time too long, male nurse yesterday night was very distant and did not listen to concerns. Staff are clearly stressed and understaffed. Thank you to nurse Anna who was very compassionate.
