Was a patient or Dr T a decade and a half ago. From what I can remember, he managed my lupus flares well with medication. The only negative remark I have is my husband was underway with the Navy, our 2 year old got his arm caught in the revolving doors and I couldn't get it out. I yelled for help, not one patient, front desk person, nurse, none came to my aid. Luckily mamas are fierce and I just yanked his arm out before the door pulled his arm out of socket... Not one scratch mark. Other than that I didn't have any issues w... read more
10 years ago, after my labs came out negative for RA. Dr. T (as he calls himself to convey an image of a super cool and friendly guy) gave me no diagnostics, no explanation for my pain, and ended our encounter by handling me a pamphlet about Fibromialgia, without addressing my issues, and with a smile, he told me I should look for a psyachiatrist. After 10 years enduring pain and other symptoms, feeling guilty believing my mind was making up symptoms, I find myself battling untreated and neglected Sjögrens. Thank you Dr. T! ... read more
My daughter went to dr turkiewicz after she aged out of childhood pediatric. Thankfully dr Gabrielle stabilized her very well and she didn't have any flares for 9 years. Now she is 29 and her first adult flare hit. So she called the office. They told her she had to come in as a new patient again. That's fair. But once she got her referral they wouldn't call her back. So she felt desperate because she is in a lot of pain. She asked to be referred to a different dr. That also did not pan out because she had to be released from... read more
The drugs Dr. T is in charge of administering for Rheumatic Diseases come with the potential of serious side effects. You are going to have to have lab work and you're going to have to have a yearly x-ray and you may have to have your eyes checked twice a year, etc. He is doing his job of protecting you. Having a rheumatic disease means you are going to have to jump through hoops - it's unavoidable. Drugs are expensive and require additional monitoring. If you bring an issue to Dr. T's attention, like a swollen injection sit... read more
I had the most horrible experience with this doctor. I have had had Lupus for over 17 years so I am pretty well versed in how I should be treated by a rheumatologist. Went in for extreme pain for my Raynaud's symptoms in my fingers and his bed side manner was non existent. He was rude and extremely short with me. In all the years that I have had lupus I have never had to call to make my appointments for any of the other labs or x rays that my Rheumatologist may need. They have always set up the appointments with the help of ... read more
