Noisy, lively and fun, this big sister to the original restaurant on Grand Avenue is an attractive diner. Experience its floor to ceiling windows, lots of seating, a bustling bar and counter service. Corn muffins arrive at your table as soon as you sit down. The wide-ranging menu, with its decidedly southern emphasis, features crab cakes, Hoppin' John, blackened chicken, ham on-the-bone and a number of daily specials. The dessert menu is anchored by Key Lime Pie, of "best in the city" fame. Breakfast and Sunday brunch are al... read more

timing is important – Extremely helpful waitress! We arrived with our 4 children for breakfast at 11am to find out it was no longer served. Cut off was 10:30am. We were disappointed but stayed for the lunch which was ok.
Favorite Inexpensive Rest. – Great value, southern style comfort food, love the Hoppin' Jack and Corn Cake Appetizer, great breakfasts, eclectic patrons
Great Spot – One of my favorite places to take friends visiting Chicago.
Great Food for a good price! – I dine at this restaurant all the time and the food is always good. I recommend the crawfish cakes and the crab cakes for dinner. The prices are very affordable it is worth the money. But there is a wait for the Sunday Brunch so make a reservation if you can.
Top Notch – The food is great regardless of what meal, but Breakfast is superb. The atmosphere is interesting and sometimes exciting. Great Place To Eat!
Only the Best – When I was a child, my mother worked as a waitress at Wishbone. Often she'd bring me home some of their delicious corn muffins. I've never forgotten the incredible taste of those muffins and they are my ultimate comfort food.
Wishes come true – One of the best ever. Lunch isn't exactly "chopped Liver" either
Great Brunch – A great place for Sunday morning breakfast. One of my favorite restaurants. Great people watching and tasty food at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?
nummy biscuits and gravy – Biscuits tender, sawmill gravy white, salty, nice sausage. Mmmmm. At dinner, the veggie plates are pretty good, too, and the corn muffins rock. Oh yeah, and if you have an aversion to kids, don't spend much time at the Lincoln location. High chairs abound.
