BE AWARE!! AVOID AT ALL COST!! I bought a van with a safety certificate issued by this garage (they have a deal with a 3rd party who does it but the receipt is issued by Japan Auto anyway) and everything seemed fine tbh. But a few days later after checking with another mechanic, we found out that the car was almost broken. It didn’t even have the minimum safety conditions to drive on the road and the cost for fixing it would be higher that the value of the car itself. Extremely disappointing and stressful experience with Japan Auto Garage. I would strongly warn other travelers and backpackers to be very careful! Don’t go there! We bought a van for $11,300 that came with a Queensland Safety Certificate arranged through this garage, which made us believe the vehicle was roadworthy and safe to travel.
