The corporation is GREEDY! they advertise their for "the people" their for their profit margin to accommodate their high paid executives ,workers. I tried to add myself to our daughter's account to get financial help for the electric ,instead the cut our power off on a Friday ,never calling to tell me I had a 22 year old bill due . I would never give them a good rating.
First off, Wiregrass Electric rates are outrageously high. No Electric Utility should be allowed to serve the public without coming under the States Public Utility Commission which will regulate their rates and a place for the public to go to when they have a dispute in their service. A absolute rip off they are 75% higher than anyone else , it’s not a non profit company they are ripping people off with there high prices , we lived in a major city in a 1500 square foot home avg bill 100 to 120 wire grass electric for the exact same amount of usage 298
Wish I could leave no stars this is an awful company. If you're thinking about moving into their coverage area make sure you're rich. Their rates are almost double other electric companies. I live in a 1500 square foot house and I'm relatively modest with my usage and I still pay about $350 a month. Not to mention the $200 reconnect fee everytime you're late making you're payment. It feels like their holding your electricity hostage and you have to pay a ransom to get it released.
Wire grass electric claims to be a not for profit company. Plain and simple this is a lie. Your deposit can be up to $650 just to get service. When I first moved to their coverage area it took almost a week to get the power turned on. And that's after I paid a hefty $200 deposit. Time went by and I came up short on the electric payment that in itself was my fault. However they shut the power off over a matter of $40. Then charged me an additional $200 deposit just to have it turned back on and that was after the $40 a... read more
