I have always had great crabs and service here. The other day I had placed an order for 2 doz large crabs and 2 ears of corn for pick up. When I got home and started eating the crabs they tasted different. They were so salty we couldn't eat them. $180 down the drain. Oh they didn't give us the corn either. I guess we will be going to Conrads from now on.
Found this place thanks to a coworker while I was up there for work. I'm from Texas, and loved this place. You could tell it is a local haunt, as the workers and locals clearly knew eachother well. This had the feel/vibe of an old tavern like you would imagine the Founding Fathers would meet up in for a drink and grub.
We stopped by for soup, trying both the Maryland (vegetable tomato-based) and cream crab soup. I thought were okay, and fit the goal of a light lunch.
We had the crab soups, both the Maryland and the cream of crab. Both were fairly bland although adding Old Bat helped. Of the two the Maryland is the better.
