Windrise is part of my childhood/adolescent days. I hold Windrise and Estela very dear to my heart. It's a beautiful and sacred space that I will never forget. I'd love to come back one day.
I’ve had many magical visits to Windrise. I was going to choose one to talk about but I can’t. Each visit holds its own bit of special-ness that has enhanced my life. It’s an exceptional piece of land that’s been well curated over the years. I have many fond memories and highly recommend Windrise Retreat Center.

Windrise Retreat is a very special place. It is as if I have driven into another world. When I am there I feel transported to a magical place where creativity and peace are in every element around me - the air I breath, the food I eat, the people I interact with. The only hard thing about giving a review of Windrise, is where to start. The hosts are so gracious and welcoming, gifted and generous, humble and humorous. The property and accommodations are both in with nature and spirit. Estella is the most wonderful sculpting teacher in that she teaches you the basics and the refining touches, but lets you be you in your creativity. Her sculptures bring out her soul to all. I was there in the times of the early Windrise over 24 years ago when it started as a Women's healing group in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. What fond memories. Emotionally I was just a kid. Now I'm a grown up woman...(still a kid at heart though smile ;). Funny how life brings you back to your beginnings. Estelle is an awesome host and the grounds are exquisite.
I loved every minute staying at Windrise Retreat. Estela is a wonderful nurturing host. I recommend anybody to enjoy the beauty of Michigan and the sanctuary of Estela and her husband. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and home.
