My daughter had an appointment for a routine cleaning but was informed she needed a gum treatment instead, which insurance later deemed not necessary based on their review of the information submitted by the dentist. Without receiving an estimate of the cost, they did the treatment, which totaled $1,300, and was told she needed Invisalign (which she previously had) totaling $3,300. She walked in for a routine cleaning appointment and walked out with charges and proposals totaling $4,600.
