About this business
History: Williams Tree Farm has been family owned and operated for over 60 years. The farm was purchased in the 1940s by Carlton and Amelia Williams and their son Wayne. Originally a dairy and hog farm, timbers were harvested from the farm and sawn for what was known as The Wagon Wheel, a historic resort located in Rockton,IL. wide selection of winter and fall activities I discovered this last weekend, because they had a hay ride available according to the advertisement that i saw. Well, Not only did they have the hay ride, they also served hot cocoa and appe cider, which was great considering the cold weather that day. I also found out that they sometimes offer sleigh rides and other winter festivies around Christmas. I have never been on a sleigh ride, so that sounds like something i can do in the future! Christmas Tree Farm Like Edwards Apple Orchard, this too is a great family tradition. Go out and ride the wagons, pet the golden retrievers, and cut your own tree. Then have some hot cider and relax by the fire. The service here is unbeatable! However, the crowds are intense on weekends. I highly recommend taking a day off work and school and making it a family day (lots of chicago folks drive in here, just for the experience!). YOu'll get really personalized attention during slow times, such as help loading your tree.
