Dr. O'Brien performed an inguinal hernia repair on me in the beginning of June. I'm a very active and experienced weight lifter. He did such a great job I was able to lift weights only 7 days after my operation. To be clear, his instructions were heavy no lifting for 4 weeks. Admittedly, I broke the protocol; however, my recovery was perfect. After 4 weeks, I have zero discomfort and don't notice anything from the external and internal incisions. I'm fully recovered and doing everything at the gym I did before my surgery.
Dr. O’Brien and the entire staff are fantastic! They are professional, organized, on time, and highly experienced. You are confident that you are in great hands. The nurses took care of me like I’m their family. My husband went to Dr. O’Brien to have a few skin cancer spots removed and I went to him to have a cyst removed. He is warm, approachable, smart, dynamic, funny and a true professional. He is also a perfectionist which is what you want in a surgeon. Highly recommend this doctor and office!
Honestly, this office is WAY better than other Advocate locations regarding staff and doctor. First, the reception area, very nice and they actually greet you! Second, the clinical staff, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They will actually check in on you and give update to when the doctor will be coming in. Lastly, I saw Dr. Obrien, extremely knowledgeable, explaining things that a patient can actually understand. He makes you feel at ease and I would highly recommend him and this particular location.
I was referred to Dr. O'Brien by another healthcare professional. The person that referred me told me that Dr. O'Brien is who all the other doctors go to for their own issues. In short, Dr. O'Brien and his team were exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations when it came to my hernia repair. The entire process was very clear cut, and as stress free as possible.
