I saw Dr. GRadishar for oncology care. Overall, he is professional and courteous, and I appreciate the time he spent explaining the basics of my condition. However, I felt that his clinical perspective was somewhat narrow and traditional. Dr. Gradishar did not pay attention to my sister’s worsening condition, insist keeping same medication, ignored her complaints about difficulty in swallowing , tongue movements, and cognitive impairment for many months. He wasted valuable time to intervene and at the end dumped his patient: advised her to get hospice treatment . The worst part was : Dr. Gradishar stop communicating with her directly, but asked other oncologist to relay the “ deaths sentence” message to her . Same thing everyone else has said. If you want to know his opinion read the NCCN guidelines. If you're expecting him to tailor your treatment to your unique case and needs look for another physician.

As a researcher, I wanted a physician who reads and conducts research to care for me when I was treated for breast cancer. Dr Gradishar is that person. Thank you! One more thing, I have friends with complicated cancers who have died due to poor care and going to providers who are not up to date with literature. Dr Gradishar writes the guidelines for care that are evidence based and up to date.
