IGNORED RADIOLOGIST REPORT THAT STATED NODULE SUSPICIOUS RESCAN IN 3 MONTHS. INSTEAD HE HAD HIS NURSE CALL MY MOTHER AND TELL HER THE "SPOT" WAS UNKNOWN BUT PROBABLY SCAR TISSUE. MY MOTHER SAW HIM EVERY 3 MONTHS, HE KNEW SHE WAS A SMOKER, HAD COPD, ASTHMA, EMPHYSEMA, HIGH RISK FOR LUNG CANCER, HE NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THAT SHE SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER SCAN SO 3 YEARS LATER MY MOM WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 NSCLC AND IF THAT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST AGGRESSIVE FORMS.
2012 Dr. Tortoriello was my mom's doctor. He sent her for a CT Scan then a PET scan. unknown to us the radiologist report stated "suspicious rescan in 3 months" instead of him following the radiologist he instead had his nurse call my mom and tell her "we don't know what the spot is but it's probably just scar tissue, it's nothing to worry about" He knew my mom was a smoker, had COPD, had asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, high risk for lung cancer.
