The Wildlife Center of Texas is a hospital that accepts all injured, orphaned, ill, and oiled native Texas wildlife. We do NOT accept healthy, trapped animals in need of relocation. We called with an orphaned bat who needed help in their area and they informed us that they euthanize all bats that come in, regardless of human contact. Even the CDC and the Texas Department of Health don't recommend killing every bat that is found in trouble. This is a despicable practice. Instead, they should simply turn the bat away so the finder can work with an actual rescuer. Killing wildlife for no reason, especially one that is critical to our environment, is both dumbfounding and shameful.
