Absolutely perfect trip! It was the perfect amount of time, our guide was great, and we saw many, many different gators, turtles, birds, and plant life! We drive ourselves to the meeting point, and it was easy to find as well.
This tour was great! We got picked up in a very nice van in the city and drove out to the swamp, and stopped at a gas station nearby for restroom and drinks before and after the tour. We could also leave belongings in the locked van prior to getting into the kayak. The guide, AJ, was very informative and also chill. Would recommend sunscreen and a hat or sunglasses, a lot of the tour is out in the sun and some of it is in the shade of the woods. Saw lots of alligators! A highlight of my visit to New Orleans was this boat tour with the insightful Josh, who added all the information, details to the wildlife and fauna through the bayou. Without the noise and crowds of other tours you become completely immersed in the landscape and spend time understanding how this complex river way has been shaped and how conservation looks to continue and preserve this unique environment. Could not recommend this tour enough. Come for the alligators leave appreciating the trees !
Beautiful late afternoon trip. Great experience to go through a quiet beautiful part of a swamp. Lots of gators but also some barred owls.
Gerald was our guide and man did he know his stuff. He stopped to share information on different species we encountered, saw gators up close, learned some about the swamps plants, history, and tossed in a voodoo story as well. I much preferred this close up kayaking tour vs the air boats that feed gators to get them to come in close. This is the tour for people who want to be close to nature and have a exciting day in the swamp. Would highly recommend this trip!
