I stayed at Wild Hearts for 8 months when in between renting places. I was looking for a place within 30 minutes of my job, and this was a good spot. Being right on the river was really nice and beautiful, there's even an osprey that likes to hunt for fish from the river. The house is extremely well maintained, and you can tell that the owner cares deeply for the house and property. Anytime something needed to be fixed, it was fixed quickly. I am a college student at Lees-McRae in Banner Elk and work at Grandfather Mountain, so I was looking for a rental that was close to work and school. This location was perfect for that! My job and work were no more than 30 minutes away (including traffic) which was extremely convenient. The house is right on the North Toe river which made for perfect fishing days. I was lucky to stay at Wild Hearts for 6 months while I was in the area looking for a permanent home. The house has everything you might possibly need during your stay and the Property Manager and Owner are very responsive and knowledgeable about the area. The Internet service at the house is very reliable and, although I didn't need it for work, I'm sure that it would easily support remote working without any issues. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Wild Hearts! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this gem of a home surrounded by all the wonder that Western North Carolina Mts have to offer for almost a year. We would do it again in a heartbeat! From hiking sections of the AT to kayaking the French Broad to biking the Virginia Creeper Rail Trail Hall of fame to waterfall adventures and everything in between this location has it all.
