Health food for everyone – Yummy food, always very fresh produce and excellent fresh-baked bread. I love their muffins and fruit tarts as well. I always feel like I am eating healthy when I shop at Whole Foods, and what's great is that the food really tastes good too. I love that they source from organic farms in the surrounding area and offer small sustainable brands that I can't find anywhere else. Yes, it is more expensive but I don't mind paying a little more if I know it supports a cause I believe in. This store isn't a... read more
Great cheese! – Nice market with cheese selection from around the world. Love it!
Ch-ch-ch-changes? – Whoa. In past years this has been a welcoming, nice place to shop. In the last 8 months though, something seems different, especially in the customer service. Folks aren't unkind, they just seem... down. No one greets me anymore, no smiling. Huh. And what's up with the wine department? It's starting to look like the Plaid. The last four times I've shopped it I have bought nothing. The beer department isn't much different, just boring, run-of-the-mill selections. Lately, it just seems sort of depressing to... read more
AVOID THE SALAD BAR – What's with the screaming and lines and everything always out of stock? This store has been open for years and they still haven't figured it out. Forget the delivery system, it makes D'Agostino's look like NASCAR. And unless you've just seen them restock the salad bar with your own two eyes, avoid it, because my entire office has gotten sick from it.
Almost Perfect, But Not Quite – I travel by foot, so I visit this WF almost daily. My problem is that the most WHOLE section of Whole Foods, the produce, seems to be it's weakest. The Guys working there usually don't know or don't seem to care about their designated area. I usually have to get someone at the front to price all my produce. It wouldn't be such a big deal as I am used to experiencing lackluster service in grocery stores...but this is Whole Foods! The staff in every other section is attentive, peppy and eager to... read more
Always Worth It – Whole Foods is a grocery store that I actually enjoy going to. Whether I'm stocking up on great fresh fruits or veggies, need some great vegetarian options or want to try out a new recipe, I know I'll find it at Whole Foods. The ready-made desserts and meals are also great if you're in a rush, or if you're just having a bad day and need some cake. A word of caution: If you go right after work, especially on a Friday, it's going to be busy and the parking lot will be packed. You've been warned!
No longer accepts "too many" checks – The Glendale Whole Foods (and maybe others?) no longer accepts more than one check per customer per week? I shopped there on Monday and wrote a check. I shopped on Tuesday and wrote another check. Their system said that I'd written "too many checks" and rejected the check. The manager acknowledged to me that it did not mean I had insufficient funds in the checking account - but rather that Whole Foods would prefer me to use a debit card. Sorry, I don't use debit cards. The only thing I'd... read more
Best cat food on earth – Since I buy my cat food at Whole Foods my cats are much more active and handsome, but also kind of addicted to the freshness and diversity every day.
REVIEW FROM CITYSEARCH's 3BUCKBITES DICTATOR – I used to believe the best part about Whole Foods was its free samples littering the store - after all, college students can't really resist anything free. But after a trip to Fresno's Whole Foods, I swore my loyalty instead to the freshly-made, hearth-baked, thin-crust pizzas, sold whole or by the slice. The margherita pizza with whole slices of fresh tomato, gooey mozzarella, and thinly sliced basil was the perfect size for a light lunch; even after all those free samples.
