Whits used to be our family’s favorite treat spot, but something has happened since they moved locations. Very disappointed. Ordered the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Whitser and got what was basically plain vanilla custard with a little pineapple on top and some brown sugar sprinkled over it, nothing mixed in like it’s supposed to be.This is the second time this has happened to us at Whit’s Frozen Custard, so it’s clearly not a one-time mistake. They do not wear gloves when handling cones and bananas. The server had a rag next to him after cutting up bananas and placing it on my ice cream he then picked up the rag and started to wipe down the counter??? Who does that ? And no gloves so whatever contaminated areas he utilized that rag with is definitely in ice cream. I won't be going back to that establishment.
We have been going to Whits for years in another city and usually love it but this location can improve. We have had their flavor of the day 3 different times and all three times they barely add enough of the mix ins compared to other Whit’s. Not sure if it is an employe training thing or a directive by the franchisee owner to save money but it is 90% just ice cream and way too little of the add ins. Great frozen custard, the service, not so good. Kids working and having fun talking to each other instead of getting on the ball
Today was the perfect day to try Whit’s for the 1st time and even more now that they have relocated to Oakleaf! I believe the Hawaiian Luau might be my favorite already
