Updated Febuary 2025 In early 2024 I took my aging 2012 1 Series in for an oil change and MOT. The car was returned with the cruise control not engaging. I was advised of a software update on the cluster that may or may not have been the cause. I suspected software as an MOT and oil change were unlikely culprits. Always read reviews! If only I'd read Andy's review first grrrr. A mate recommended I go to John the Hippy (his words). Found the BMW specialists but no Hippy :( My MOT also came with a free software fix I didn't ask for. Months later the engine cut out. AA found I had run out of fuel even though the gauge read an eighth of a tank. BMW specialists and another fuel issue later I took my car to BMW. My original review is still at the bottom and I leave it in homage to The Garage's original owner John, A man with a down-to-earth personality, No messing-around attitude, Honest and an amazing mechanic to boot.
