During our YVR weekend pub crawl - dropped in here for a pint or five. However, left immediately after just one, only due to distress and allergy/migraine from cigarette smoke by patron smokers standing right outside their patio ledge. Just inconsiderate in this day and age that an establishment accepts this anywhere within 6-7m of their property. Disappointed and disgusted - likely won’t be back.
The bartender was rude and asked her to surprise me. She rudely said she couldn’t do that because she didn’t know my preferences and rolled her eyes. Instead of hiring an older bartender, it might be better to have someone younger and more cheerful.
I used to have a great time at WR Beach beer, until an employee who spent a lot of time out back with the smokers', claimed I caused her stress. Could it have been due to the amount of foam in glasses of beer for a few weeks, leaving a record to skip and I decided to take the needle off the record since there was no one behind the bar for 5 minutes+. I visited this place on May 4 after being invited by my Japanese friends. My friends aren’t very confident in English, and the place was kind of busy, so I understand that communication can sometimes be difficult. However, the service we received was unexpectedly rude. The bartender was absolutely amazing and super friendly. Grabbed a few different pints (amazing beer) and sat with my dog on the patio and relaxed. Absolutely loved it here and the vibes.
