I've been with WRVEC for electric service for over 10 years and I am very happy with their service. Sure, there has been outages, but most have been taken care within an hour, if not minutes. Only one time can I think of when it was longer than that, when we had severe thunderstorms with very high winds (close to 100 mph) came through the area around 3 or so years ago. They’ve been great to work with. Only needed to call them a few times for something I needed but the response has always been quick.
Nothing but good things to say about WRVEC where many of our friends in our community are employed, good crew, taking care of business. Been with them many years.
There is an outage and when I call it doesn't recognize my address, or ny account number or phone number. There is no one to answer calls or help after hours. I even tried the smarthub. There is someone to answer for phone and internet problems. We'll freezer defrosted. Food in refrigerator spoiled and my elderly mother and I will have to wait until they get back on Monday. That is sad when you have no emergency person on call or to pick up messages after hours or on the weekend.
In order to have electricity, you are forced to join a co-op whether you want to or not. You can’t just call the electric company and get your electric turned on. They require you to disclose if you have an electric car if you plan on getting solar panels, etc. Not to mention these folks are so outdated they are still using Jott forms for “applications “ .
