We used to have a membership here when our oldest was smaller. We now have a toddler and she wanted to bring her for nostalgia but they’ve reduced the center by 1/3 and added a gaming area. I take my kids out to get AWAY from that stuff. Despite UPMC now heading this off, it’s the same as ten years ago with notable decline. My kids were bored not long into the center, including my toddler who usually loves to play for hours. We brought our 7 yr old Grandson, first visit for all of us. Saw the T-Rex movie first, then went down to the permanent section where, sadly, over half the hands-on activity stations were not in working order! Grandson quickly grew frustrated and kept going back to the rock climbing wall. We went to the lowest level for the new temporary exhibit, Winter Glow. Fantastic Venue! Incredible sound and lighting! Perfect size venue and arguably the best venue in the region. I have seen Solar Federation here three times and its always an incredible experience. Great helpful staff, decent size clean restrooms.
Very nice interior venue, overall, but seating/ticketing verification staff were sparse. Scavenger hunt street parking or expensive garage are your options.
Fun Christmas event, a science show and a dinosaur exhibit all in one.
