I've been doing business with Whit-Ash for close to 20 years and have never, ever been anything but delighted with the service and atmosphere. I went there the other day as a birthday present to myself.....a day to shop by myself and see what goodies I could find in their wonderful Jewelry section. Well Mr. Whitney gave me the usual friendly service and brought out some pieces for me to look at......all were on sale at 50% off. This review applies ONLY to Mr. B, who I believe is the owner of Whit Ash. During my visit to the store, he was extremely rude and condescending to me and to his employees (sales person, young man who took down a mirror for me to examine it, and a gentleman who wrapped the mirror and loaded it in my care). In terms of quality, prices, and service, everything was perfect. If you are looking for rugs, furniture or mattresses, I want to recommend this place.
HORRIBLE PEOPLE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I recommend going SOMEWHERE else... They will rip you off of tons of money and then lie to you before and after. We bought what WE WERE TOLD was "Real 100% Genuine Leather" a little after a year later the FAKE LEATHER RIPPED!!!!!!! And they refused to help us because we did not have a receipt OVER A YEAR LATER!!! We looked under the couch and found a tag... THE F**KING COUCH IS POLYESTER!!!!!!!!! F**K THOSE A**HOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When selling a leather chair... be sure it is leather! Had my chair for 3 years and is peeling! Was told it was 100% leather. Can't find the receipt to share also.
Beware! Beware of the jewelry department. I was a loyal customer spending enough money in there to purchase a car, but when it was time to get my jewelry repaired it was a nightmare! First they hassled me about switching my insurance to the mediocre company they push on all their customers. I payed them to replace a small diamond and when I came in to pick it up they had switched my ring with another work order and handed me back a ring that wasn't mine! Amazing!!! What a wonderful place to shop for quality furnishings for an amazing price. Les was extremely helpful, not pushy, and extremely educated about every piece of furniture on the floor. Mike helped me pick out the perfect rug for my space, and even had some chairs delivered upstairs so that I could envision better how the colors would fit together.
