The Wheeler Centre used to be a place to discuss and debate ideas. Unfortunately it's nudged itself towards a more woke agenda where you just hear the same conversations week after week. Such a shame.
Awful return policy for tickets. I get why the big companies like Ticketek/etc have the no-refund policy, they're money hungry corporations, but you'd think a group like the Wheeler Centre which has the stated mission to: "...open up writing, reading, storytelling and inclusive public discussion to everyone, everywhere..." wouldn't be quite so interested in drawing out every possible dollar from their customers.
Purchased tickets for the Fearless book tour by Lauren roberts and can't say I was very impressed. I didn't even get to go and when I sent an email to see if I could get a refund I never received a reply. I did end up driving down to Melbourne to which I couldn't find the place and it wasn't very easy to navigate. They forced a donation to proceed to payment. They also charged an extra $10 for over 30 yrs even though all other tickets were the same price. The author also wasn't signing however she was at other events so not ... read more
