As a non fan of the LOTR movies I wasn’t planning to go but when I found out this company has worked in a lot more films I was more keen. Our tour guide Taylor was amazing, charismatic, friendly and no matter what question we threw at him he had an answer. It was fun seeing all the props up close and finding out how much work they put into it. There’s heaps of merch you can buy although it is mostly LOTR themed. Definitely book the tour spots in advance.
So much to see and take in. Angie our tour guide was great and made the tour one to remember. Absolutely great peak behind the camera and to see all the props and costumes.
Incredible experience, and the staff are all so full of life and brilliance! We walked out feeling inspired to continue our personal creative pursuits. Every time I watch a film now I have a new found respect for the time and work that goes into Weta creations. You won't believe some of the stories you'll learn! Also visited a local bakery before our tour for the yummiest pies and hot chocolate.
The tour was way more then I expected! Our tour guide (unfortunately forgot his name...) was amazing with so much to tell, friendly and stories for days about the place and the people that work there. Highly recommend going and you don't have to be a movie buff to enjoy and appreciate the art and craftsmanship that these people make here they! Side note: safest to repurchase tickets, parking is a little hard to find at times and the gift shop is generally cheaper then buying online
Tuesday gave our group such an epic tour! Our students loved the passion she has for Weta and what she does. Highly recommend the tour!! Thanks so much.
