An enjoyable experience that made us look differently at some of our all time favourite movies. Being able to see behind the scenes at the special effects and just how much effort and time really goes in to it makes us appreciate cinema that bit more. It would have been great to see some of the digital side of the work with special effects as well as just the props. We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Mark! He was so enthusiastic, funny and most important he knew so much about literally everything there! He told us he’s been working there since 17 years and you could really notice that! We got a good insight on how they make the props for the movies. Kim and Liam, both sculptors, showed us their work which was really interesting too. We would definitely recommend the tour!!
Both kids and adults enjoyed the tour. It was fun and great to see behind the scenes of how things are done. Our tour guide Bianca was absolutely awesome and full of knowledge. Kids loved they were able to touch and try some of the props , and learn how to make a few things just with tin foils . A fab way to spend 90 min . Would recommend booking in advance but we only booked a few hours before our tour and it was fine . Definitely worth a trip past the big troll 😉
Having visited Weta Cave several times since 2017 - it’s always an amazing experience in this cave of treasures. I’ve never escaped without finding a lil something (new). A shout-out to Sully who was at the counter this round - very helpful, knowledgeable, and positive :) Also a very good salesman - he tempted me into doing the tour for the second time! Everything here was so coooooooool!!! So many incredible creations, all made with passion and imagination. It was seriously inspiring! The experience space is right next to the studio, so you can actually see people working behind the scenes. As someone who loves creative work, it made my dream job feel a little closer. ✨ The staff were informative, enthusiastic, and super friendly. They really helped make the experience memorable.
