Avoid Like the Plague ! – I vacationed in Charleston, SC and on my last night had the unfortunate experience of stopping by Wet Willie's for a drink. The bar itself was extremely noisy and none too clean. There were lots of very intoxicated young people,some that could barely stand and this was before 10:00pm. Great time for a Strong Daiquiri...great live music – I visited Wet Willie's totally by accident last Sat around 4:30pm for a Happy Hour drink. We were walking by and decided to step in for a quick one. I would categorize the scene mainly as dive bar that seems to turn into a dance club at night (since we didn't stay too late). Fun place to hang out – Great selection of drinks. Bar staff was very nice as was the wait staff at the tables. This is a popular spot, gets very busy at night. I recommend this place for a nice night out on the town.
tourist trap – awful cheesy, very lame, not somewhere you want to end up ever if can be helped at all. Literally the worst bar in charleston
Be cautious here... – I am a regular on the Charleston Club scene and I would be cautious here, went here for a girls night out and all four of us got robbed even though there are police out front. Also got offered blank in the bathroom and we have been back since then just to check it out again and it's still the same. The drinks are great, but the crowd is not worth it.
User review by whitfield00 – One of the first bars I hit back when I turned 21! These drinks put you on your ass! A great place to go dance and hang out! It's always been crowded everytime I've gone, but service there is great!
Strongest Drinks in town – All I have to say is get the Call A Cab. They mask the everclear very well.
Wet Willie's is no fun – Wet Willie's used to be fun when we were underage. Now it is filled with rednecks and old people visiting town. The only thing good about it is that the drinks can really kick off a good night! Use it for pre-partying before you head to the good bars.
