I visited the gym and was disappointed with its condition. The facility is unclean, lacks air circulation, and has dirty locker rooms. The sauna and steam room were particularly unsanitary. The overall hygiene standards are subpar. Considering the modern amenities offered by other YMCAs, this gym's outdated facilities are inexcusable. In comparison, Planet Fitness appears to be a superior option. Notably, the staff is extremely friendly, despite working in challenging conditions.

I normally do Enhanced Fitness classes at the southside Y. Due to a schedule conflict, I opted to take the earlier class at the westside location, led by Chris. She was rude and bossy. I'd set my equipment beside an empty chair to be followed by signing in. She approached me and told me that I need to sign in and that I can't use hand weights for the first three times in her class.
