I had stayed at this treatment center twice it very good loved it a good program but of course it’s not for everyone didn’t agree to a lot of it but got a lot out of it, I stayed at the youth house second time I went back I left came back to the house to grab my belongings and when I went through my belongings I had a lot of my stuff missing I’ve contacted the house immediately and told them and they said they didn’t find anything… I’ve also heard the youth staff “youth staff are in there early 20s” they steal things from cl... read more
Not somewhere I would recommend — the staff are not the most kind, especially if you have mental health issues (which for most people is the root of their addiction). Besides DBT group, theres barely any discussion, education, or awareness of mental health — only focusing on addiction and not the roots (which is not effective to not address and heal). When I had a breakdown at lunch, the staff were saying judgemental things behind my back. I had to go there against my will ordered by a hospital psychiatrist. I only got clean... read more
Westminster House truly helped me save myself. I had been to many treatment centers before I ended up at Westminster House, and none had the same social connection, after care and instilling of values that I got at this house. I was treated with dignity and respect, the staff highlighted my positive attributes instead of breaking me down. I gained so much confidence and self-worth at WHS, and I will be forever grateful. I will soon be 6 years clean and sober!!
‘If you are asked to share at a meeting you must share’ or else there will literally be consequences. How many females do you think that statement has killed?
I hated it there. It didn't help me at all. I actually got worse there. I had to go to the hospital 3 times. I got humiliated in front of everyone by drinking caffeine. I have thoughts and nightmares from this place. They turn your family against you. I was almost homeless.
