Unlike the reviewer below who wrote in 2010 (over 5 years ago), I work for Westmed and have for 6 months. Pay is $12 and goes up w/ seniority. W/ overtime I average $14 per hour. This is slightly above the industry average. I have never had an equipment malfunction. All of our ambulances are new. I really enjoy working here and it is so much better than the other companies (including ambulance companies) I have worked for. I am friends with an employee at Westmed. They treat their employees like total crap. The never give lunches to the 24 hr shifts and run them into the ground. They never maintain their ambulances and have had many breakdown because of Westmeds negligence. There have been EMTs and Paramedics stranded on the side of the road with patients. They are forced to do b.s calls and treat their employees horrorable. This company only pays their emts anywhere from $10-11 an hr to be treated like slaves working anywhere from 48-60 hours... read more
