I came to Westmead Hospital ED with upper abdominal pain while pregnant (high-risk pregnancy). My baby had not been moving for several hours, and I had a referral explaining everything, which I gave to the triage nurse. He told me to go to the waiting room. Smoking chamber very smokey cigarettes smells!! . If you care for your lung. Or dont want be a 2nd hand smoker avoid coming here. Specially at night time!! Very smoky!! And not healthy to those who asthma or cigarette allergies smells. I will not recommend here. Cause the ER is been build at the basement basically!! No enough air circulation enough for the smokers smoke to circulate!! I hope they have idea if is possible to move the adults ER soon to a better place location.

I attended with an urgent issue that wasn’t necessarily an emergency but couldn’t be sorted out in an outpatient clinic soon enough. I arrived at around 9am and I was seen and discharged with an appropriate plan all within 3 hours. The staff were all very professional and empathetic. I left feeling reassured and very well looked after.
