I've worked in health care for 20 years, 10 as a therapist working with clients with dementia and tbi and I've never witnessed such disrespect as I have with Trilogy's West Lake Health Campus in Commerce. After 12 weeks of help caring for my mother in-law, they told us they felt she was too "busy" for them as she would not just "sit". This is a nursing home not a rehabilitation facility. It is poorly staffed and has no patient care. It takes a half hour to respond to a call light. There is very minimal exercise equipment o n the premises. The play elevator music i n the hallways and tell you to shut the doors if you don't like it. In short, if you are looking for a place to die this is the place for you. If you searching for a rehab facility focus your search elsewhere. This place is only focused o n the money and place the patie nt care second.
My father was a patient at Westlake Health Campus for rehabilitation prior to having surgery for a aortic aneurysm. He was admitted on April 5 2017 and found deceased in the early morning hours on April 9 2017. His cause of death was listed as End Stage Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease yet the surgeon performing the surgery evaluated my father and gave him the green light to proceed.
