I submitted all the paperwork to surrender my annuity on time with National Integrity Life Insurance. In spite of doing everything as requested from their customer service representative, they kept nearly $5,500 in surrender charges. This is almost 3 moths Social Security payout for me. I called their customer service representatives over a dozen times, but they will not resolve the issue. My wife has a whole life policy with Lafayette Life. We chose whole life due to the favorable tax laws regarding not only the death benefit, but also when borrowing from the cash value of the policy. Seeking to build that cash value, we sent the company an extra $3,000.00 to add to our policy.
