I think overall they have been good. The customer service member reps are always helpful and professional. I wish they were contracted with Sutter. Also most of these reviews regarding direct care should not be for western health advantage. They are an HMO provider so care is provided by medical groups. That's who should be getting the complaints

I was enrolled in WHA due to covered ca was uping their costs, so my whole family changed over from Sutter to WHA, we fully regret our decision, its been 7 months now and I haven't been able to see a doctor, I'm out of ALL meds and feeling awful. The first doctor they signed us up with was a pediatric doctor and asked if I had a child. Second doctor they set us up with was a doctor that does physical therapy, so WHA is trash and probably so overwhelm by new patients they are sending you to random places. If zero stars were an option.... 2.5 years with WHA and as someone with a chronic medical condition that requires DME (T1D), DO NOT GO WITH THEM. Getting supplies for my pump and CGM's has been nothing if not downright traumatic. I spend hours on the phone. The anxiety about running out of supplies because I cannot get anyone to get the paperwork done, or done to the right person, the right codes or fax number or OMFG... Western Health Advantage is cool . I had a balance due, well still do, but they are very helpful I drove down to Sacramento from Auburn The balance that was past due has returned a payment. In addition, there is a lady who works there, her name is Maggie. She's awesome, totally cool and professional. Thanks Western Health Advantage
