In speaking with others, I’ve learned that Dr. Troy’s tendency toward medical gaslighting is not just an isolated experience. The office’s billing practices are just as concerning. A simple nasal exam with a light scope was billed to my insurance as “surgery” for nearly $700, on top of the $150 office visit. I’ve seen multiple ENTs in other cities and have never encountered anything this misleading or unethical.

Had an audiology appointment scheduled for early May. Yesterday I received a call asking if I would move the appointment to a day earlier as the doctor I was suppose to see was no longer going to be there. Today I received a call telling me my appointment was cancelled. The very u professional and almost rude receptionist just left me hanging as I thought she was going to tell me that she would reschedule me. I had cancer surgery on my neck in Sioux Falls and a drain tube was inserted into my lower neck area. When it came time to have the drain tube removed, nobody in Rapid City would/could do it. After a day of phone calls and rejections, Dr. Schleiffarth at West River ENT said yes. I received an appointment for two hours later, and arrived at WRENT 20 minutes early. West River ENT is welcoming and courteous from the start, and Dr. Troy Howard is A-mazing! He listened patiently to my issue, explained treatment options, we began with the option he suspected would work and IT DID!! Although I may deal with this issue for a while, my quality of life has returned...which is everything to me. Thank you Dr. Howard!
