If you are an animal rights advocate who is against euthanasia, do not support this place. They have euthanized some of their “rescues.” Their veterinarian does it. Not somewhere I would give my money because I personally do not believe in euthanizing animals that you take in to give a better life.
West Place Animal Sanctuary is an excellent organization that takes in farm animals who are in places and situations that are harmful to the animal’s wellbeing. Every animal is well cared for and given a safe, loving place to live. The work they do is inspiring.
I've been to West Place three times. Each time I left thinking that it is such a special place. The atmosphere is beautiful, serene and overall calming. Every animal there has a story, which the staff openly shares with you and will answer any questions you may have. I left there knowing that the animals are not just well- cared for; they are truly loved.
Saturday was my last day working at the West Place Animal Sanctuary as a volunteer. I have loved, poured my heart into, and was dedicated to the beautiful beings at the Sanctuary. The problem wasn't with who I was taking care of. They were kind, forgiving, and loving, for being so very hurt by human hands. The animals were what was pure, good, and beautiful.
