Peaceful place to sit, think and look out over the water.
West Harlem Piers is always active and lively in the daytime. Bikes, scooters, and runners have their lanes. There are seats overlooking the Hudson River and you can enjoy the breeze during summertime. Columbia University has college campuses nearby. The Westside highway's 125 Street exit is right next door. I love bringing my dog here when the weather is unbearably hot. Just the orher day, I was able to get a beautiful picture of the ducks and the seagulls perched on a fence above the water.
I enjoy taking the train from BX and walking 125th just to sit by the water and enjoy the breeze and my fellow New Yorkers. Maybe smoke if I can. Plenty of people enjoying life. One of my favorite places to go so far.
