I had a very disappointing experience at the DUMBO West Elm while shopping with my two-year-old. My son briefly touched a display candle. I completely understand that display items shouldn't be handled, and I would have immediately redirected him if someone had simply asked me. Instead, an employee loudly shouted, "Don't touch that. Ok, this experience is so hilarious that I almost want to make a reel out of it. When I was checking out some houseware that was on sale at the counter, this man didn’t apply the discounted prices. I politely reminded him, “I think we have a discount for these.” And he looked at me like I owed him something, and said, “Show me.” ??? Kyle at West Elm was absolutely wonderful. My partner and I spent quite a while in the store trying to figure out our dining table situation. We had already purchased a table that ended up being too large for our space, and we were struggling to find something that was the right size, color, and style. The customer service here is terrible. I stood at the register and no one attempted to help me cash me out. When I did finally say excuse me the rep put a finger up and proceeded to help someone who just walked in. I never been to a business where the person who was at the register wasn’t made a priority .Might I add all three of the staff members seen me standing at the register. Decided to keep my money since it didn’t seem valued.
