I had an acupuncture appointment with Elad Shalev and experienced what I perceive as cultural harm. I mentioned to him that I am a lesbian and he proceeded to ask if my sexual orientation is acceptable in my culture. I tried to explain the history of colonization and its impact on Indigenous peoples, specifically 2S folks and he started lecturing me on how I needed to change my thinking.
