Rat poo and pee and moths. We had no food or clothing in our locker - just our parents’ wood furniture, old photos, some paintings. Almost everything had to be thrown away. We tried to get restitution but after submitting a claim multiple times but gave up. Front desk had no power to really help but seemed nice enough. I have photos. I won’t post them here but happy to share.
I've rented multiple storage units over the years from all the big name corporate storage companies. West Coast Self storage is miles ahead of the rest. Firstly and most importantly the hours you can accsss your unit actually accommodate working people. Every other unit i have had is accessible 9am-5/6p, and even 2 were closed Sundays. I work 6 days a weel mon-sat 8am-6pm. so literally would have to take a vacation day to go put a couple things in my storage. West coast (at least Columbia city location) 6am - 10 pm 7 days. Super clean and great location!
Definitely the best storage facility in Seattle. I've rented from the big orange brand and their facilities were falling apart and the garage door was broken for a like a year, holding everyones large items hostage. So I moved. In sharp contrast, West Coast Self Storage is professional and the staff are friendly and attentive and available by phone or text if something goes wrong. Our rent went from $97 to $150 in less than a year across three separate increases. Be aware that prices can rise quickly and without much notice. Update (01/29/2026): We’ve received our fourth instance of a rent increase today, with a raised price from $150 to $171. In total, that represents 4 rate increases over the course of two years. Adjusting down rating to 1 star.
