If you want someone to service your engine Cam may be a good bet, but for diagnosing engine problems I would not recommend West Coast Diesel. Cam was completely unable to diagnose our engine problem correctly and cost us a lot of money for basically nothing other than his self proclaimed "valuable" advice. The one postive is that he is available on relatively short notice when other mechanics are booked up months in advance.
Extremely knowledgeable and great to deal with. Hired for engine work on our 1960 Canoe Cove and treated our boat with real care. Highly recommend West Coast Marine Diesel.
Cam is the kind of mechanic you hope to find but rarely do. I was replacing the exhaust elbow on my Ford Lehman and had two broken bolts. One of those jobs that should be 20 minutes but ends up two weeks. Cam squeezed me in between other projects, removed the broken bolts without damaging the threads, and saved me a massive headache.
