TLDR - Purchased a used 2024 Kia Carnival. - Noticed a rock chip on the windshield on the drive home after the sale. - This model uses a heated windshield (with built-in heating element) that cannot be repaired — it must be replaced. - Dealership’s recommendation: take it to an auto shop and have it repaired through ICBC. - Auto shop refused because ICBC will not cover pre-existing damage. - Dealership then suggested waiting 30 days and filing a claim afterward, offering to cover my $200 deductible.
