It's always possible to order a meal that you just don't personally enjoy, or maybe have a personality conflict with one of the staff. In either case I don't believe one should judge the restaurant solely on that experience. In our case we had a party of 8 and ordered almost every entree on the menu. So I've lived in the Charleston area for quite some time and although I've seen and passed the Renaissance hotel several times I've never checked out their in house restaurant. Most reviews I read said this place was a "hidden gem" and I can see why! My wife and I had dinner there for my birthday and I must say the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent! This was my first trip to Wentworth Grill and I will be back as often as gas prices and my bank account will allow. Wentworth Grill is off the beaten path, but very much a gem. While it is technically part of the Renaissance Hotel, the atmosphere is one of its own - no cookie cutter, touristy, hotel feel.
