Was great! Now closed. Restaurants out here in Defiance typically do well 9 months out of the year, often packed with people waiting on weekends. The wineries and Katy trail bring a lot of people in too. But during winter they have mostly locals especially during the week. So to make it here (IMO) restaurants need to plan for the income fluctuations and limit the menu and staff during winter, or simply close until spring. Wente’s Roadhouse is a local bar with good food in the heart of Defiance. We’ve eaten here several times… the food is better than your typical bar food. Good pizza, wings, burgers, salads, and more. Even the beef hotdog is good! The atmosphere is rustic, nothing fancy. They have an outdoor patio in the front and on the side, plenty of seating during warm weather. I just happened upon this place randomly today! I love the atmosphere and I met Kim and I love her. Will definitely be back even though it’s drive for me.
